Sturmey-Archer Automatic Hub: The rear hub uses centrifugal force to switch gears. Inside the hub are two gears:
Low Gear: For starting and climbing.High Gear: For riding fast on flat ground.
The "Magic" Shift Point: At approximately 7 mph (11 km/h), the hub automatically clicks into high gear. If the child slows down (for a hill or stop sign), it automatically downshifts back to low gear.
No Manual Shifter: There are no triggers or twist shifters on the handlebars. This allows your child to keep a firm grip on the bars and focus entirely on balancing and steering.
Maintenance-Free: The gears are sealed inside the hub, protecting them from rain, dirt, and mud. No derailleur means the chain won't fall off.
